I love the styling of this collection, so messy and yet very well put together. I especially like the bits of shiny jewelry peeking out between the layers. It is refreshing to see such a light color palette in a fall/winter collection. Just what I needed after what seemed like endless all-black collections.

a splash of color
Love that picture taken during London Fashion week. I am quite obsessed with all dark outfits with something really colorful to break it. That pink skirt is a perfect example. It really makes me want to buy a pink skirt...hm.

Speaking of London Fashion Week...I guess I kinda skipped it >.< I've been in bed with a pretty bad cold all all week and didn't feel like using the computer. I'm better now and I'm back at work. I guess I will just skip London for now and jump right into Milan Fashion week which is starting today! I can't wait for Missioni tomorrow, yay! Have a nice day lovelies.

Rolled up pants make everything look so much cooler =P
Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I am at home as I got a pretty bad cold and don't feel like leaving the house. I guess it's books, blogs and TV shows (Gossip Girl and Supernatural) this weekend.
shopping damage february - part II
I've seen this jacked at H&M Tokyo and wanted to get it so badly but opted against it since my luggage was already overflowing. Ever since getting back I've been checking H&M occasionally in search of the wonderful spring beauty. And finally last week I got lucky! I love the vibrant color and the layers it will defintely brighten up any spring outfit. I really can't wait for warmer temperatures.
Yesterday I received this wonderful vintage beaded sequin jacket which I ordered on ebay:
I have yet to find out how to wear it best but I love it already. I am also considering getting it altered to make it a bit smaller. But then again, I kinda love the coat-like shape. hmm
PS: exuse my horrible hair and make-up, I caught a pretty bad cold and wasn't really feeling up to do anything.

shopping damage february - part I
I've been eying this blouse ever since it came out but was a bit put off by the price. I was surprised to find it on the sales rack, especially in my size! It was more than 50% reduced so I couldn't resist any longer. The layers and the draping is so beautiful - love it! (from Zara)
Amazing blazer in a wonderful girly color. It's a powdery lilac that makes gives it a slightly romantic touch despite it's very uniform like cut and detailing. I have seen this in store when it first came out but didn't even try it on because it was one of the priciest blazers in the store and I think also one of the center pieces of the Zara winter collection. So I was even more surprised to find this on the sales rack than I was when I found the blouse. Also the price was irresistible, it was reduced to only CHF 40 (about EUR 27 / USD 34)! It also goes great with the blouse and makes a white tee with jeans look instantly chic. I'm so happy I found it!
Not on sale was the belt from the Zara summer collection (which I posted earlier). I also saw the "matching" silk dress which would make the Balmain-esque look perfect but I didn't really want to spend that much money on a cocktail dress that I don't really need. I have to think about it again...after all I do have lot of black dresses then again the silk dress was divine and would add some glamour to my wardrobe =P.
New York Fashion Week: Max Azria, Michael Kors, Derek Lam
Although I think black is a bit overly present in the fall collection I couldn't help but love the subtle sexyness in the Max Azria collection. My favorite were the long flowy dresses that made the girls look like dark gloomy goddesses.
Michael Kors presented a very sleek and elegant collection which I would loooove to wear to work. So many great tailored pieces. I epecially love the grey suit...the short sleeves, the layers on the skirt - love it!
This collection looked very chic and very New York to me. I loved the styling and just how amazing is that blazer+dress outfit on the left?! <3

New York Fashion Week: Erin Fetherston, Rodarte
Nothing outstanding but incredibly cute and doll-esque. I love almost everything in the collection and some of the pieces got my imagination racing taking me into fairytale land =D. I also saw a little Alice in Wonderland in this...<3
I'm gonna have to jump on the I love Rodarte bandwagon because what the Mulleavy sisters presented for Fall 09 was another outstanding collection. The beautifully crafted dresses looked liked abstract paintings constructed upon the bodies of the models. I can't wait to see these beautiful art pieces in editorials!

Lacoste Fall 09 Shoes
How great are those overknee boots Lacoste showed at the Fall 09 show? I love them in all colors, they look so versatile. They do remind me a bit of Balenciaga only much more affordable ;-) I hope they will sell those, I would definitely get a pair!

New York Fashion Week: Elise Øverland, Preen, Alexander Wang, Ruffian
I love the designer's take on metallics. I'm usually not one to be drawn to metallics but on these fabulous leather pants and jackets it actually looks really nice. And then there are these sexy rock n'roll party dresses which I loved too.
Alexander Wang's collection was probably one of the most anticipated shows in New York, especially in the blogsphere. I have to say I wasn't too impressed with what Mr. Wang presented. True, all the trends from last season were continued and there were some really nice individual pieces but overall I just didn't like the collection, the biker shorts, the cut off leggings and lots of ill fitting tops and jackets (yes, they were oversized but not in a nice looking way) didn't really do it for me.
As a sucker for everything girly, ruffly and romantic I absolutely adore this collection. So many nice individual pieces and gorgeously styled outfits.
I thought that somehow the collection looked like it was designed with Blair Waldorf in mind, I kept on picturing her in each of the looks =P The whole collection what very sophisticated and chic, I only disliked the few leopard looks but that's just due to my dislike of leopard print in general.

platinum blonde life
Iekeliene Stange debuted her new blond look at the NYC fashion week. It looks a bit strange at first but after seeing her at Yigal Azrouël I quite like it. It gives her the air of some sort of mythical creature (or maybe that's just the dark eye make-up).
Fashionology stated that "apparently her first choice was white or gray, but her agent convinced her otherwise". I think a white/grey-ish color would've been cool, it would've made her look even more otherworldly.

New York Fashion Week: Christian Cota, Shirley & Hamos, Yigal Azrouel
I especially love the top left look here, dark and wonderfully draped with a wonderful mix of fabrics <3! The whole collection had a very dark theme which I always love in a Fall/Winter collection. There were some kick ass tomboy looks as well as lots of beautifully constructed body hugging dresses. Loved every bit!
Very elegant and beautiful collection. I also really like the jewelry.
Happy Valentines Day
I hope all of you have a wonderful day filled with lots of love. I made heart shaped chocolates for the boyfriend and he gave me cute little cake figures from Japan (totally useless but I love stuff like that =P and especially if it's from Japan).

New York Fashion Week: Day 1 (Rachel Roy, Monique Lhuillier)
Very strong collection with beautiful cut pieces and a lovely muted color palette. I really like the sheer fabrics and the corset details. There were also some misses in this collection like the heavy looking very shiny silk dresses.
Beautifully detailed gowns, ballet inspired dresses and sheer fabrics - very unexpected from Monique Lhuillier. I always love feminine and romantic designs so this collection was very much to my liking. The detailing is wonderful and I love the shredded sheer shirts and tights worn underneath, this adds an edge and very subtle tough-ness to the otherwise so delicate look.
ruffle goodness
I love ruffles. Especially when they're done in such a tasteful and incredibly chic way as on this Phillip Lim wool coat. I imagine stutting around Paris while wearing this beauty with white tights, a pair of elegant heels and a burgundy scarf...ahh <3

Zara Spring/Summer collection
The Spanish high street retailer has just released the spring/summer catalog featuring Lara Stone on its website.

I can't wait to see the studded Balmain-esque sandals in Store...I need them! The black dress in the black and white pictures looks stunning too and very very much like Balmain.

Tokyo: Aoyama
As I promised before, here are some pictures from Tokyo. During my 4 days in Tokyo last month I visited a very cool yet posh area called Aoyama where all the big designer have flagship stores. I just walked around in the area a bit, looking at the cool buildings that house the designer stores and the people walking around.
